The Court has communicated to the Government of Austria the application Müllner v. Austria and has asked them to submit their observations on its admissibility and merits.

The case concerns Austria’s alleged failure to mitigate the impact of climate change, in particular global warming, by taking effective measures to reduce its greenhouse-gas emissions and to limit the increase in the global average temperature to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. The applicant suffers from multiple sclerosis and argues that his symptoms worsen in higher temperatures.
